The sky in the acrylic painting needed a brightening after 20 years. Whether it was the color of acrylic paint or my attitude that needed brightening, I didn't hold back and covered the upper portion. It added contrast clarifying from where I came to where I am headed.

Over the next year 2022, I'll be posting my collection of paintings, some of which I created before the millennium. Head back in time, the first postings will be from my 2002 exhibition in Vancouver, Canada, entitled "My Green Brain" where I displayed more than 100 landscapes, mostly green acrylic paint on stretched raw canvas.

When I moved from the Pacific to the Atlantic coast, I tore the canvas away from the wooden stretchers. In a way, I tore up my life away from the Pacific Coast. Now I hold fond memories of friends, family and nature walks along the Pacific's misty shoreline. Rolling up the many layers of canvas into one giant cylinder for transport, I said my goodbyes and drove across the country with my paintings and some dear keepsakes. All these years, the paintings have been carefully stored. Now, twenty years later, I'll unveil these treasures that have witnessed a couple of decades worth of struggles. To see these pieces again brings a sense of relief. Finding a way back to remembering why any of us paint. Creating paintings eases the pains, opens doors to happiness, and summons the joy. My arm moving, reaching for liquid color, enjoying the experience until satisfaction sets in. And then, at the moment of satisfaction, I am ready to start again. Another raw canvas.
