Aztec Geometric Jazz

In 1997 I reached the Northwest coast once again. My studio was about the size of a walk-in closet with tall walls to paint the large canvas. The palette was inspired by a visit to the Southwest with all the Native American hues and tones, pulled from the earth. Six circular faces in unity are all connected with curves and patterns. This piece has travelled the continent several times back and forth now, exhibited in a few places, and though not literally glued to my side, I now display it in my studio for me to see daily. It reminds me of my journeys, my attempts, my accomplishments, and my tragic failures. Still I keep going. That's what artists do, right? Whether they exhibit, hoard, trash or burn their art, they keep on making more. It's like Bill Murray's Ground Hog Day flick, just another day to make another piece... and I'm ever so grateful to be doing so. With the construction of my online gallery, my goal is to reproduce these treasured artworks for others to enjoy.
