In honor of Michael Paul Ragusa, firefighter‚ FDNY‚ Engine 279. My daughter and I were walking around lower Manhattan in beautiful weather on Thanksgiving last year. We went to see the 9/11 memorial where nearly 3,000 names were listed. When we strolled up, I clicked my camera for a photo, and then looked down at the bronze inscriptions, there was Michael's name. We didn't even have to search for it. It was the first name popping up out of 3,000 names. What are the chances? 1 in 3,000 seems more than just a coincidence. I could conjure up what meaning it had, knowing in my heart that we were in the right spot at the right time. So when this firetruck road by, I clicked a photo as they turned the corner, for inspiration in my studio. Superheroes ride by. Good people. Champions.
