The style of this Victorian-lace architecture is absolutely intricate adding 1,0000 details to the structure with tiny elements everywhere: curly cues, dots, zigzags, wavy lines. It looks like candy with the bright colors of Gapka’s brand of fluorescent oil paint.
Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the Great Clock of Westminster. Queen Victoria laid the first stone of the tower on December 22, 1843. The tower design was based on Augustus Pugin's Gothic Revival style, completed in 1859. The dials and clock hands were originally Prussian blue. Even though I don't paint in the Latin inscription, I do like knowing how it translates: DOMINE SALVAM FAC REGINAM NOSTRAM VICTORIAM PRIMAM, translates: O Lord, keep safe our Queen Victoria the First.
