It's the sunset hour at Bryant Park in Midtown Manhattan with a great view of the Empire State Building. The detail of swirls in the wrought iron lamp posts are whimsical along side the the cute little pineapple cupcake kiosks. My oil painting is heavily saturated with vivid color. Deep purples bring the depth. Applying thick paint, I scratch the surface, and voilà the underpainting is revealed.
