Chunky paint like oatmeal. Thick application of oil paint under a heavy pigmented oil layer above. After seeing a piece of artwork by Roualt, in a museum Charlotte, NC, the thick layered paint struck me. I'll bet his layers protruded from the canvas at least half inch thick. Inspired me to paint this piece in the same thicky manner. It's the crossing of 35th Street and 5th Ave with a bus and pedicab, aka. rickshaw in transit, Manhattan, New York.
