"Hold my hand!" I remember my grandmother saying as we crossed the street. I didn't want to, thinking I was old enough being eleven. She was ever insistent and that irked me so I bit my tongue and held her hand since her tone was harsh. The junction of traffic was bustling. The cars were flying by and it must have scared her thinking about my safety, I know that now. She cared about me. Painting these London scenes bring me closer to her, like a time-machine, going back.
In my painting, the double-decker bus is really vivid using Gapka's fluorescent oil paints. I’m trying to make that red as juicy as possible. I spent about a half of an hour blending the background. It takes forever, You wouldn’t know it, but I guess I’m a perfectionist.
This oil painting captures the vibrant essence of London’s Piccadilly Circus in a bold, impressionistic style. A classic red double-decker bus dominates the foreground, curving along a brightly lit street. The surrounding architecture is rendered in warm tones of yellow, orange, and pink, with glowing windows that add a sense of energy and liveliness. The textured brushstrokes create movement and depth, while the pink-hued sky enhances the surreal and artistic atmosphere. The painting beautifully conveys the dynamic charm of London’s cityscape.
