The most beautiful woman, with the hope and the dreams; Across the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge from Brooklyn to Staten Island, the Statue of Liberty raised her torch for me as a reminder of my grandparents who set sail across the Atlantic from the United Kingdom. What excitement they must have felt seeing the grand lady welcoming them to the land of freedom. My dear friend A.J. (Andrea) Clements wrote a book about her family's emigration from Ireland to USA, it's a love story. And when I think of all the hope that immigrants had in their hearts, I mist up. The copper sculpture, not just a symbol, a memory. Hiking the 354 steps as a kid to reach the top, the stairs were a strenuous adventure.
