Flashbacks roll through my mind. I was eleven-years-old when I visited this thousand-year-old structure. Upon seeing all the suits of armor, I gained a perspective about how short the people were in the medieval days. I was tall for my age and weighed about 133 pounds or 9.5 stones and don't think I could have fit in some of those armors. There was a giant book (almost a foot thick and tattered) on display, and in my imagination it must have contained something of great importance, because why else would it be encased for all to see? Supposedly it was the accountant's book. So here I am learning about history, being there, walking the same spot where William the Conqueror would have walked. I felt so small in the grand scheme of things, all that history and culture preserved, what could I bring to all the significance? That's was traveling does to me, keeps me humble, all while pondering my contribution. And now I'm documenting the White Tower with bright vivid colors, trying to elicit the awe of "Being There" (also the title of one of my favorite movies). Ooooo I love that texture in the sky. Of course I turned the White Tower pink. It looks like cake now. Perfect for tea time at 4pm.
